Track: Test Automation
Are you running automation without traction? In this session, the speaker tactfully approaches this problem leveraging monitoring, logging and defect tracking systems thereby facilitating automatic feedback to stakeholders. The tests are executed using a framework in java, the results of which are sent to a monitoring tool that shows up as traffic lights on dashboards. The dashboard links to Splunk logs at the server side that provides insights about the failing test and root cause of the problem. Alerts can be customized for specific conditions being triggered in the logs. Change requests are then automatically filed in the defect tracking system after setting the corresponding severity/priority fields. The QA sign off in all environments is provided to DevOps and all other stakeholders in this automated manner. Learn about the framework and the integration involved in bringing all these pieces together.
Session Takeaways:
- Knowledge of a new test framework
- Learning a new monitoring tool–Wily
- Exposure to log file analysis–Splunk
- Integration of 4 commercially popular tools: Junit/Wily/Splunk/Jira
