S12-604: Cutting the Mustard: Lessons Learned in Becoming a Superstar Agile Tester

Track: Agile Testing

As IT professionals we strive to deliver quality products to our business stakeholders and end users. Being on an Agile team means we have to deliver quality products in shorter iterations while working closely with our business stakeholders. The key to greater success on an Agile project isn’t the process, the tools or even the automation suite, it is the people. Being a superstar tester on an Agile team means challenging yourself to meet the demands all while delivering value. I have found that as I strive to become a superstar tester, I am continuously challenging myself to grow. This presentation will examine what it means to “Cut the Mustard” and will challenge attendees to cut the mustard in their own unique way on their Agile team. By ensuring quality within ourselves and all that we do, we can effect positive change and be the catalyst for transformation within the teams we work with.

Attendees will expect to:

  • Examine traits of superstar Agile testers and what it means to “Cut the Mustard”
  • Understand what aspect of our role hold us back and learn to leverage those that move us forward
  • Analyze pathways for growth
  • Share inspirational stories of incremental to monumental team transformations by individuals through their action
