S12-501: Tomorrow’s Test Management

Track: Leadership Perspectives for Testers

The landscape of software testing is changing. Testers need to be more engaged, influential, and sapient than ever before. The expectation for testers to provide rote, prescriptive testing is going the way of the dinosaur. With the need for testing to be an exploratory and adaptive process, test management often becomes the greatest roadblock. Managers are tempted by the idea of best practices and unknowingly implement methodologies that restrict sapience with detrimental measurement programs. This session will explore the perspective management needs to embrace in order to enable and empower highly successful testing teams
